Musical Theatre Camps for Kids and Teens
The Maeya Academy’s musical theatre camps offer aspiring young musical theatre actors a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop their skills as triple threat performers by studying with Broadway-level faculty. Campers work directly with instructors who have appeared in numerous Broadway, Off-Broadway, and International touring productions, top-rate regional theatre, opera, hit movie musicals, and television shows. They receive real-world training that prepares them to pursue success, creating an educational experience few other musical theatre colleges can offer.

Yu Opera Theater Camps (Age 10-17) 
Yu Opera is mostly dominated by singing opera arias without make-up and acting. It is noted for its demanding melodies, strong rhythms and intensive use of spoken language. Yu Opera is popular to the broad masses for it is full of local features and rich flavor of life. There are three fixed systematic roles of the opera, four types of sheng, four types of dan, and four styles of painted faces. There are several dozen arias.
This three to four weeks of camp will tech, train and practice the basics of the yu opera technical, then present a section of “Cheng Ying Rescuers The Orphan” on stage as the graduation show.

The outstanding student will be recommending to attend the Henan Yu Opera Institute.
